Spiky hair abounds. The Dragon Ball saga is an anime classic, and virtually the entire story chronicles the life of Goku, a rambunctious young man with a heart of gold and fists of steel. A great deal of silliness, dramatic tension, and midair combat follows him wherever he goes, resulting in a unique, often over-the-top experience. Dragon Ball is based on the manga series of the same name, by Akira Toriyama.

The movies of Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z, and Dragon Ball Super are of questionable canonicity in comparison to the anime, and often fail to fit neatly into the timeline of show. Consequently, the entries here are approximations only. Because Dragon Ball GT has been declared more or less null and void by the creation of Dragon Ball Super, it is included under Release Order only.

Several arcs in Dragon Ball Z have been declared filler, as they do not appear in the original manga, and are considered non-canonical. To skip these arcs, watch Dragon Ball Z Kai rather than the original anime. Since the movies are similarly non-canonical, this article will utilize the episode lists for the original series.

At two points in the story - once in Dragon Ball Z, once in Dragon Ball Super - time travel plays a prominent role. As a result of this time travel the timeline changes, making it incorrect to place either of the related sagas at the end of the chronology, where they would normally belong. These sections are instead listed where they come up in the story.

At the moment this list does not include Dragon Ball Heroes, a non-canon series of animations. These will be added in the future. The list also doesn't include any of Dragon Ball's many video games, as none of them are canonical. These, too, will be added at some point, though only under Release Order.
