A cannibal with a taste for the fine life, Hannibal Lecter is the central figure in a number of movies and a television show, acting as antagonist and protagonist in a variety of complex and gruesome ways. The stories comprising Lecter's timeline have been retread several times, and so it can be difficult to decide how to approach the series. The movies are based off of a series of novels by Thomas Harris, which are included below.

Aside from the presence of Anthony Hopkins in several of the films, the Hannibal Lecter series is a hodgepodge of actors and continuities when watched on-screen. Viewing the movies and / or television shows in chronological order will give you a rough idea of Hannibal's life, though the presentation and tone of each piece of media will vary. If you want a more cohesive (but incomplete) experience, watch these movies and this show in isolation:
